Job Reference Seveso/2013/VAC/ADM/01    Start ASAP

An opportunity has arisen to work within this EuropeAid project.  We are seeking an experienced professional individual to provide managing and coordinating support and inputs to ensure the Consortium delivers the planned outputs in line with the Project’s goals.  The post will be based on the Hacettepe Teknokenti in Ankara (Turkey), although there will be occasionally a requirement for flexible working throughout Turkey as well as EU travel. 

About the role

You will work alongside both the Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader and Consortium Partners staff to take forward the Technical Assistance on Increasing the Implementation Capacity of the Seveso II Directive Project and ensure its successful delivery.  Your role will involve coordinating and project managing including line management responsibilities.  You will act as point of contact for Consortium partners and Project’s stakeholders and you will also engage with local, regional and international public and private organisations as well as NGOs in the Seveso Directive field.  You will report to the Team Leader. 

About the person

You are educated to University Degree level or have equivalent qualifications or experience.  You speak and write both Turkish and English fluently. 

You possess problem solving skills and you are able to work systematically with minimal supervision effectively prioritising your own workload.  You can demonstrate initiative and exceptional organisational and planning skills to deliver outputs to a high level of accuracy. 

You have experience in effective people supervision and management.  You have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate written and verbally at all levels effectively.  You have also a good understanding of budget control, project related quality assurance activities and cash flow issues.  And you possess excellent all-round IT skills (in particular Microsoft Office applications).

You have substantial experience of working in an administrative role within international projects and/or organisations.  You can build and maintain stakeholders’ relationships including Government bodies and agencies, regulators and other Seveso establishments.  Your experience or knowledge of major hazardous establishments would be welcomed. 

In return a negotiable salary range is on offer depending on experience.
